Fall is my favorite season, from the beautiful fall foliage to the crisp autumn air, Fall has a special place in my heart. Whether Fall is your favorite season, or you’re still experiencing summer blues, here are some fun and festive fall activities to boost your mood:

Go to a Pumpkin Patch: There is nothing quite like going to a pumpkin patch and smelling the aroma of apple cider donuts, and soaking in all of the sights of fall! Pumpkin patches are nostalgic, and it is a great place to bring the family together while safely social distancing outdoors.
Host a Socially Distant Brunch: If you have space outdoors, this can be done picnic pot-luck style, where guests can BYO food and drinks. Fall weather is perfect for an outdoor picnic, and what better way to practice safe social distancing while catching up with family or friends?
Apple Picking: This is a great, safe hands-on activity that the whole family will enjoy! Check to see if your local farm or pumpkin patch will allow apple picking. Bring your picked apples home for some DIY fun and make caramel or candied apples together. Kids will love this activity as it will allow them to spend quality time outdoors and it will bring the family together to make fun treats! If you’d like to take baking to the next level, try my homemade Jewish Apple Cake recipe under the Recipes tab!
Go on a Hike: Visit your favorite park or go to a new park to find your new favorite hiking spot! Hiking is a great way to exercise your mind and body. Make sure to capture the breathtaking views of the leaves changing color.
Go to an Outdoor Market: Support local and small businesses by attending an outdoor flea market or farmers market. You can find all sorts of goodies from crafts and gifts, to fresh produce and food items.
Host a Halloween Movie Night: Can’t decide on a movie? Write the names of each family member on pieces on paper and place them into a bowl. The name that is drawn from the bowl gets to choose the Halloween movie. You can make this even more fun by making fall-themed snacks and treats to enjoy while watching the movie. Have a projector? Take movie night to the next level by placing a projector outside accompanied by a campfire and chairs. My best friend recently did this, and it was such a cool experience!
Campfire with S’mores and Hot Chocolate: If you have the space outdoors to safely create a campfire, please consider doing so! Fall is the perfect season to have s’mores by the fire. Add some cozy blankets and hot chocolate, and you’re set for an ideal Fall evening!
Get Crafty: There are a lot of DIY projects that are centered around Fall – from home projects to decor, there is sure to be a craft that is perfect for you! I highly recommend Pinterest for all Fall DIY crafts and activities, but you can also check out YouTube or TikTok for DIY tutorial videos.
Fall Foliage Inspired Journaling or Photo shoot: Get your creativity on by channeling your writing or photography skills. Even if you’re a beginner, Fall is the perfect season to take pictures outdoors; and Fall weather is perfect to sit outside to unwind with journaling. Journaling is a great practice for mindfulness, and it will allow you to feel refreshed and recharged.
Bake or Cook: Take the time to experiment in the kitchen with cooking and baking. There are so many delicious Fall recipes to choose from! Fall food staples include Pumpkin, Butternut Squash, Apples, and so much more. Find inspiration on Pinterest, or go to my recipes to try your next entree or dessert!
Let’s make a goal for ourselves to break from the stress of work or homeschooling and try one or more of these Fall activities! Giving yourself time to appreciate the beauty of the season with family and friends will allow you to feel refreshed for the next work week ahead. I hope you all have a wonderful Fall season!
